DIY Decorations: Cupcake Liner Love

I can imagine a time when cupcake liners were used solely for their functional purpose: to provide a cup in which to bake miniature cakes. However, somewhere along the line someone got creative, and the lowly liner has now been elevated to a new VIP status!

This is just a small collection of DIY decoration ideas to make using simple, budget-friendly cupcake liners. I can see them fitting in perfectly as low cost decor at your upcoming Valentine’s party, baby/bridal shower or even at an engagement photo shoot. Enjoy!

1. Heart Wreath

This lovely wreath was created by Kathleen from Twig & Thistle for a special-edition Valentine’s DIY project for Fossil! Click HERE for her tutorial and HERE to see the entire Fossil DIY collection.

2. Garland

There’s no “correct” way to do these, but the gist is always the same. Add doilies, paper circles, newspaper or even coffee filters to achieve the look you want. Hang horizontally or vertically. Click HERE for a good tutorial from 100 Layer Cake.

3. Pom Poms

No one will believe how easy these were to make! Place them on top of a candlestick to form a table centerpiece, or hang them from trees or the ceiling using ribbon or fishing line. Click HERE for the tutorial.
