1950’s Housewife Themed Bridal Shower

You know I love me some theme parties, and this shower on Hostess With the Mostess is just so colorful and fun!

Bride to be Kristen described the party as inspired by a combination of “1950’s housewife meets Katy Perry and Dita Von Teese” and held it at a real-life vintage soda fountain. (TIP: try to find a venue that already emphasizes your theme for no-brainer decorations) Enjoy the full post with more special details HERE.

First, I’d like to apologize for being the most delinquent blogger EVER.

Second, I’d like to honor the release of the final Harry Potter movie, The Deathly Hallows Part 2, with these fun HP party ideas from Loralee Lewis! For more pictures, click HERE to visit the Blow Out Party Blog. I can’t get over the owls.

Mardi Gras Cookies

It’s a well-known fact that I’m automatically addicted to anything glittery. It’s also well-known that I have a huge sweet tooth. So how could I have possibly resisted these glittery Mardi Gras cookies, you ask? I couldn’t. Marian of Sweetopia made these sweet treats as part of her new monthly feature on The TomKat Studio. They’re decorated with royal icing and disco dust. Disco dust!? How did I not know about this? I forsee a glittery baking experience in the near future. Click HERE for her full tutorial. Happy Fat Tuesday!

Black and Gold Oscars Party + Free Printables

Jenn at Hostess with the Mostess recently featured this impressive Oscars party décor that I just love! The black and gold color scheme gives a subtle nod to Hollywood glamour while simultaneously switching it up from the classic black and red theme. My favorites are the winner’s categories drink charms and the old fashioned popcorn snack bags!

LOVE ROCKS! Rock Star Themed Valentine’s Party

Natalie of Southern Belle’s Charm created this awesome “Love Rocks!” themed Valentine’s party and I absolutely love it! Every little detail just screams rock and roll, from the paint splattered cupcakes on the guitar-themed dessert table to the tattoo-inspired banners. While this party was made for children, I can easily see it being tweaked for a birthday or bridal shower.

“Midnight” Themed NYE Party

Some people simply have a knack for consistently creating amazing things. Be it music, art, or even excellent cooking, it’s always simultaneously humbling and exciting to see a phenomenal piece of work. In today’s case, said piece of work is this glitzy-glam Midnight Themed New Years Eve party styled by the amazing Courtney Dial of Pizzazzerie!

These letters make an awesome centerpiece, and are super easy to make yourself! Courtney spray painted wooden letters (available at craft stores) black and then sprinkled loose royal blue glitter to cover them while the paint was still wet.

Champagne flutes filled with horns and noise makers add to the festive tablescape. To make these napkin rings-cum-place cards, simply glue both ends of a 5-inch long piece of ribbon to the back of the card to form a loop.

Simple idea, taken to the next level with calligraphy labels and a little bit of know-how. To create your own: spray paint a terra-cotta flower pot your color of choice (in this case, navy blue) and fill with black-eyed peas, which are traditionally considered to be a good luck food eaten on New Years!

These menus were designed by Kate of Custom Paper Works and are made to look like you’re viewing them from the top of a champagne glass. Clever!
