Last summer, my cousin Alexis married the love of her life, Frank, after 8 long years of international dating! It was such a fun wedding at the Grand Tradition Estate in San Diego, and she did a great job planning everything herself. She chose a red, white and silver color scheme, and her princess ballgown and horse and carriage getaway completed the fairytale.
One of my favorite details was how they chose to name their tables. They met when Alexis (an American) and Frank (Dutch!) were both studying abroad in Spain. They both love to travel, and have been to nearly every corner of the world together, including a several week-long backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. As a special touch, they named their tables after places they had been together and shared a memory that was written on the back of the card. They then thanked everyone for being at their wedding to create that new memory with them as well.
These beautiful photos were taken by the very talented Julie Hanna, a longtime friend of mine who specializes in “photography of people in love.” So cute! Paul, Julie and I all went to high school together, and I always joke (but seriously) that he’s the smartest person I’ve ever met in real life. Be sure to visit Julie’s site HERE for more photos.
My beautiful friend Justine got married to her husband Patrick (what a lucky guy!) this year and was kind enough to share her photos with me. She looked absolutely gorgeous and did such a fantastic job planning everything herself.
I love the feather detailing in the bridesmaids’ bouquets that match Justine’s feather and flower bouquet!
How excited does he look?
The two got married at 7-Degrees, a super modern and popular venue located just a few blocks from the ocean in Laguna Beach, California.
The venue offers such an interesting array of locations for photographs, from gardens to modern art and everything in between.
The indoor reception was the perfect balance of girly and glam, with bejeweled manzanita branches and sweet flowers.
All photos taken by Rafael.
On a perfectly clear Spring day this past May, Karla and Bud tied the knot at the St. Regis Monarch Beach.
While I could try to use words to describe how gorgeously wonderful everything was, I’ll simply let the pictures speak for themselves. All photos are courtesy of Kip Roof, the ever-so-talented photographer of the day.
The bride and her attendants (including the cutest flower girl you will ever see) prepared for the big day in the hotel’s Presidential Suite.
Nearly everything she wore was Swarovski crystal-encrusted, including her gorgeous Cathedral length veil.
Bud and his groomsmen had a more leisurely day, even taking some time to hit up the bar…
The ceremony took place on the Grand Lawn, which looked absolutely stunning after the florists at Square Root Design worked their magic on it.
The reception was no less than breathtaking. I love the blue water paired with white flowers! It’s such an elegant and interesting way to integrate a bright color into your decor without worrying about finding flowers to match.
Tables were softly lit by votives placed in candelabras.
And do we even need to talk about the cake? PHENOMENAL.
